Why we chose it
Thermal modification is a chemical-free process: wood steamed at 180–215°C to alter its cellular structure, increasing water resistance and stability without PFAS, coatings, or adhesive treatments. No factory finish means the owner conditions it exactly as they choose. Made in Germany by the same company making kitchen blades since 1814. The durability story here is physics, not chemistry.
