Accessibility Statement
Last updated: June 5, 2026.
nontoxicnook is committed to making nontoxicnook.com accessible to as many people as possible, including users of assistive technologies.
Conformance target
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA, published by the W3C Web Accessibility Initiative. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities — visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, language, learning, and neurological.
What we do
- Semantic HTML structure on every page.
- Visible focus indicators on all interactive elements.
- Keyboard navigability throughout the Site, including menus, accordions, forms, and product galleries.
- Sufficient color contrast for text and meaningful UI elements.
- Descriptive alt text on content images; decorative images are marked as such for screen readers.
- Form fields labeled and validated with accessible error messages.
- Skip-to-content links on long pages.
- Responsive layouts that reflow without horizontal scrolling at standard zoom levels.
- Headings used in document order for accurate screen-reader navigation.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, parts of the Site may not yet fully meet WCAG 2.1 AA. Known limitations include:
- Some third-party embedded content (e.g., merchant widgets, video) may not match our internal accessibility standard.
- Older articles may use markup patterns we have since improved.
We are actively working to address these.
Feedback
If you encounter an accessibility barrier, please tell us:
- Email: hello@nontoxicnook.com
- Subject line: "Accessibility feedback"
Please describe the page (URL), the issue you encountered, and the assistive technology and browser you were using. We aim to respond within five business days and resolve issues promptly.
Compatibility
The Site is designed to be compatible with recent versions of:
- Major desktop browsers (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge).
- Major mobile browsers (Mobile Safari, Chrome on Android).
- Screen readers including NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, and TalkBack.
If you use an older browser or assistive technology, some features may behave unexpectedly.
