This disclosure is provided pursuant to the U.S. Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising, 16 C.F.R. Part 255.

What Nontoxic Nook is

Nontoxic Nook is an independent buyer's guide, not a retailer. Nothing is sold, stocked, fulfilled, or shipped by Nontoxic Nook. Every product listing links out to the brand or retailer that actually sells the item; you complete the purchase on their site under their terms.

When you click a "Buy on …" button on a product page, you are directed to a third-party merchant. Nontoxic Nook may earn a commission if you make a qualifying purchase there, at no extra cost to you. Affiliate relationships are managed through networks such as impact.com, Awin, CJ Affiliate, FlexOffers, PepperJam, Skimlinks, and direct brand programs.

Where applicable, Nontoxic Nook is a participant in third-party affiliate advertising programs (including, where enrolled, the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program) designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by linking to participating merchants.

This disclosure appears in the Site footer on every page, near affiliate links on each product page, and on this page in full per FTC guidelines.

What affiliate revenue does not do

  • It does not determine what gets listed. Listings are governed entirely by the criteria on the Our Promise and Editorial Policy pages.
  • It does not determine ranking or order. Editor's Picks are chosen on merit; rankings reflect editorial judgment, not commission rate.
  • It does not determine coverage. Brands cannot pay for placement, a positive review, or removal of a negative one.
  • It does not cost you more. You never pay a premium for arriving via Nontoxic Nook — and where a brand gives our readers a discount, the product page says so with the exact terms and what the brand charges otherwise.
  • It does not transfer your personal information to merchants. See the Privacy Policy for the click-tracking details (the IP we record is one-way hashed before storage).

Where a product meets the criteria but no affiliate program is available, it is still listed and linked. The presence of an affiliate program never tips an inclusion decision.

Honest opinions

Reviews and recommendations reflect our genuine editorial assessment based on published ingredient disclosure, certifications, materials, and verifiable claims. We have no obligation, contractual or otherwise, to write favorably about any brand, merchant, or product in exchange for affiliate participation.

How we handle samples and gifts

Where Nontoxic Nook accepts a product sample for hands-on assessment, that fact is noted in the relevant article. Receipt of a sample never guarantees inclusion, a favorable assessment, or any specific ranking.
