## Why we chose it

Shin In-Young is one of the last traditional Korean blade smiths working in the Anseong daejanggan style. The blade is forged from recycled railroad track steel — a high-carbon alloy — with no coating applied. The handle is shade-dried chestnut or oak without resin impregnation or synthetic treatment. This knife patinas naturally with use; that is the intended material behavior.
